Does a positive test for H. pylori require sterilization treatment?

  Combining the 2000 European Maastricht22 consensus report and the 2003 Chinese consensus opinion, the indications for HP infection eradication are divided into the following categories: (1) Absolute indications (must be treated): ① Peptic ulcer, regardless of whether the ulcer is active or quiescent, regardless of the presence of complications or due to its post-surgical patients, as long as the presence of HP infection is confirmed, HP eradication treatment should be given; ② Gastric MALT lymphoma; ③ postoperative early gastric cancer or family history of gastric cancer; ④ chronic gastritis with obvious abnormalities, which refers to the combination of erosion, moderate or severe atrophy, moderate or severe intestinal hyperplasia and mild or moderate atypical hyperplasia.  Except for the above 4 are not recommended sterilization therapy to avoid the production of a large number of drug-resistant bacteria.
