Can gout be cured?

Gout is a crystal-related arthropathy caused by monosodium urate deposition and is directly related to hyperuricemia due to disorders of purine metabolism and/or decreased uric acid excretion, and belongs to the category of metabolic rheumatism. At the current level of medical development, gout cannot be cured, but lifestyle adjustments can help prevent gout. Gout patients should follow the following principles: 1) limit alcohol; 2) reduce the intake of high purine foods; 3) prevent strenuous exercise or sudden exposure to cold; 4) reduce the intake of fructose-rich beverages; 5) drink a lot of water, more than 2000mL per day; 6) control body weight; 7) increase the intake of fresh vegetables; 8) regular diet and rest; 9) regular exercise; 10) no smoking. For hyperuricemia, you can use uric acid-lowering drugs to prevent gout attacks, as follows: 1) allopurinol and febuxostat, drugs that inhibit uric acid production; 2) benzbromarone, drugs that promote uric acid excretion. As long as you adjust your lifestyle and use some uric acid-lowering drugs, you can prevent gout attacks.
