Pediatric hemangioma treatment strategies

1.Examination According to the characteristics of skin lesions, choose color ultrasound, CT or MRI examination to assist in diagnosis, and give histopathological examination if necessary. 2.Diagnosis According to clinical manifestations, combined with ultrasound, CT or MRI results can be diagnosed. It should be differentiated from vascular malformation. 3.Treatment Infant hemangioma has the characteristic of self-resolving, and most of them will not have serious sequelae after the regression, so some children do not need treatment. However, high-risk hemangiomas should be treated as early as possible. Therefore, infants with hemangioma must go to a regular hospital for early specialized examination to assess their risk. There are many treatment methods for hemangioma, and the appropriate treatment should be chosen according to the actual condition of the child. Commonly used methods include oral propranolol, local injection therapy, local freezing, laser therapy and surgical excision. Vascular malformations, except for median type of nevus, cannot fade away and will increase with age, so active treatment should be given. Laser treatment is used for erythema nodosum, while local injection treatment, surgical excision and minimally invasive intervention are chosen according to the situation for venous malformations, lymphatic vascular malformations or arteriovenous malformations.
