What does physiological depression mean?

Physiological depression, refers to the cluster of somatic symptoms that the patient experiences during a depressive episode. Somatic symptoms are mainly very common in depressed patients and include sleep, diet, weight, and behavioral activity performance. Patients’ sleep is mainly characterized by difficulty falling asleep, light sleep, early awakening, and lack of sleepiness. In terms of diet and weight, patients mainly present with decreased appetite and weight loss. Some patients with atypical depression will have hyperphagia and weight gain. Patients show lethargy, fatigue, laziness, exhaustion, fatigue, and decreased ability. Depression is characterized by heavy mood during the day and lightness at night. The performance in sexual function is diminished or even completely lost. Some patients are barely able to maintain sexual intercourse, but are unable to experience pleasure and pleasure from it. Some patients, especially women, experience menstrual disorders and amenorrhea.
