The bivalent cervical cancer vaccination is available for women aged 9-45 years old, and the vaccination schedule is one month after the first injection and the third injection after 5 months, i.e. the three injections must be completed within six months. The cervical cancer vaccine can prevent more than 70% of cervical cancers, and after the vaccination, routine cervical cancer screening is required. Because there are still some HPV infections that cannot be prevented by the vaccine, regular cervical pre-cancer screening is very necessary. The bivalent cervical cancer vaccine prevents infection with high-risk HPV types 16 and 18, which are the two viruses most likely to cause cervical cancer.
