Infantile hemangioma (IH) is the most common benign tumor in infants and young children, which is a true vascular tumor caused by the overproliferation of normal vascular tissue in the mesoderm. The incidence of IH is 2%-3% in newborns and 10% in infants and children under 1 year old. Hemangiomas occurring in the eyes, lips, nose, ears and other special areas are more difficult to treat because of their special functions, rapid growth of the tumor and low self-resolution rate. If the treatment is not timely or improper, it may lead to dysfunction of vision, sucking, breathing and hearing, etc. Moreover, the tumor is prone to ulceration, secondary infection and bleeding, and after healing, it is easy to leave scar, causing tissue deformation and affecting the appearance and function. We use local injection of urea to treat infantile hemangioma in the above special areas with positive results.
