Dry eye classification

Dry eye is a very common type of ophthalmology disease and is currently divided into two types: the first type is the tear deficiency type of dry eye and the second type is the evaporation type of dry eye. Insufficient tear production is mainly due to lacrimal gland disease and malfunction of the lacrimal gland, which is also known as aqueous deficiency dry eye; the second type is mainly seen in lid gland dysfunction. If dry eye occurs, it usually manifests itself as dryness, soreness, foreign body sensation, burning sensation, photophobia, and tearing. For this condition, artificial tears are currently the main treatment, and you can choose sodium glassate drops or polyvinyl alcohol drops to improve the symptoms of dry eyes. If the dry eye is severe, you can apply glucocorticoids topically, such as flomylone eye drops, but because glucocorticoids side effects are also relatively obvious, so during the use of attention to monitor the changes in intraocular pressure to prevent secondary glaucoma, the use of time should not be too long, generally not recommended to exceed one month.
