Many patients are not clear about the specific contents of cervical cancer screening. Briefly speaking, there are two items in screening: high-risk HPV typing test and liquid-based thin-layer cytology examination. 1.Nowadays, it is believed that cervical cancer can be classified as an infectious disease, and more than 90% of cervical cancer is due to high-risk HPV virus (human papillomavirus) infection, so high-risk HPV virus screening should be performed, and among them, HPV type 16 and HPV type 18 are super high-risk types, and about 70% of cervical cancer is infected with HPV type 16 or 18. 2. Liquid-based thin-layer cytology is different from the cell smear more than ten years ago, which is made by centrifugation to remove impurities and mucus to make a more satisfactory pathology film for reading, which can make a better judgment on the current cervical cell situation. However, even with these two screenings there is still a possibility of missing the test, because the high-risk HPV typing test is related to the stability of the reagents, and the liquid-based thin-layer cytology test is related to the level of material taken by the gynecologist and read by the pathologist.
