What is the best treatment for multiple hemangiomas of the liver

The treatment of multiple hemangiomas in liver needs to be based on the patient’s individual specific situation to choose the appropriate treatment plan, and surgical resection is the most effective way to treat multiple hemangiomas in liver.
1. Conservative observation: for hemangiomas with diameter less than 5cm and no clinical symptoms, surgical treatment may not be necessary, and ultrasonic examination should be done every 3-6 months for regular dynamic observation of hemangioma volume changes.
2. Partial hepatectomy or lobectomy: for tumors with a diameter of more than 10cm or 5~10cm in diameter but located at the edge of the liver, with traumatic rupture risk or obvious subjective symptoms (e.g. pain), partial hepatectomy or lobectomy can be performed according to the extent of the tumor.
3. Ablation therapy: for hemangioma with a diameter of 3~5cm, ablation therapy can be adopted, which includes radiofrequency ablation, microwave ablation, cryoablation and so on.
4. Hepatic artery embolization: for those with large size of hemangioma, hepatic artery embolization can be chosen.
At present, there is no optimal therapy for the treatment of multiple hemangiomas of the liver, if the disease is found and diagnosed by physical examination, one should go to the hospital in time for consultation and standardized treatment under the guidance of doctors.
