How many years can I live with chronic nephritis?

Chronic nephritis usually survives for more than 10 years. The most important clinical manifestations are hypertension, proteinuria, edema, and some patients may have hematuria or abnormal kidney function. Treatment includes blood pressure control under 125/75 mmHg when the 24-hour urine protein quantification is greater than 1g. When the 24-hour urine protein quantification is less than 1g, blood pressure control under 130/80mmHg is recommended, because hypertension and proteinuria are aggravating factors for kidney damage. Active dietary management, such as low salt and high quality low protein diet, is also recommended. Chronic renal failure itself will not lead to sudden death and cardiovascular accidents, but when blood pressure or proteinuria is not properly controlled, abnormal renal function or cardiovascular disease will occur, causing death or sudden death.
