Is there a relationship between thyroid nodules and neck tightness?

Thyroid nodules are not necessarily associated with a tight neck, or a tight neck does not correspond to the clinical symptoms of thyroid nodules. Thyroid nodules include physiological goiter, whose main clinical manifestation is simple enlargement of the thyroid gland, which can lead to thickening of the neck, and can be relieved and cured by eating iodine-rich food or thyroxine supplementation. Other diseases, such as subacute thyroiditis, have a history of upper respiratory tract infection before the onset of the disease and manifest as neck pain, which can be relieved and cured with hormone therapy for about 6 weeks. Neoplastic thyroid diseases such as thyroid adenoma or thyroid cancer mainly present as painless lumps in the neck that can move up and down with swallowing and have a soft or hard texture, unrelated to neck tightness. Therefore, there is no necessary connection between thyroid nodules and neck tightness, and neck tightness does not mean thyroid nodule disease.
