What are the symptoms of thyroid nodules?

When the nodules develop to a certain extent, they may cause symptoms by pressing on the surrounding organs in the neck: 1) coughing or throat discomfort due to pressure on the trachea; 2) swallowing discomfort due to pressure on the esophagus; 3) hoarseness due to pressure on the recurrent laryngeal nerve; 4) hard lumps may be palpated locally due to lymph node metastasis in the neck in malignant nodules. The smaller the nodule, the more difficult it is to detect the symptoms. The larger the nodule, the more likely the corresponding pressure symptoms will appear.
