The dietary requirements during the acute period of gout are strict and the total daily purine intake is strictly limited to 150 mg. The following recipe has an energy of about 7100 kJ and a purine of about 100 mg and is suitable for patients with moderate size disease. Breakfast: 250 ml skim milk, 2 pieces of square bread, 1 hard-boiled egg (yolk removed). Lunch: rice (100g of japonica rice), fried beef with cucumber (35g of beef and 100g of cucumber), 100g of cabbage. Additional meal in the afternoon: 1 citrus (150g). Dinner: rice (100g of japonica rice), scrambled eggs with tomatoes (100g of tomatoes, 60g of eggs), tofu and winter melon soup (150g of winter melon, 100g of tofu). Use 25g of oil for the whole day.
