What medication should I take during a gout attack?

When a gout attack occurs, the first, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs are used, such as ibuprofen, ketoprofen and sulforaphane, all of which can be used for pain relief and are available during attacks. The second one, is colchicine. If these two drugs are not tolerated during an acute attack or for people with renal insufficiency, glucocorticoids can be used. Glucocorticoids can rapidly reduce inflammation and pain within a short period of time, and are more effective in treating gouty arthritis. If necessary, adrenocorticotropic hormone can also be used, which is more effective than glucocorticosteroids.
