It is well known that liver tumors (hemangiomas, malignant tumors) are very common in China, and their early detection and diagnosis play an important role in clinical treatment. Clinically, there are many cases in which ultrasonography, CT and MRI scans show a single lesion, but subsequent surgical or interventional procedures reveal multiple lesions. Therefore, a comprehensive preoperative display of liver tumor foci and their blood supply is undoubtedly an important guide for clinical treatment selection of liver tumors. “The clinical study of digital subtraction angiography with different parameters for primary liver cancer will provide a new method to solve this clinical problem and bring new hope. Tan Yi-Qing, Department of Radiology, Wuhan Third Hospital, introduced the results: “Clinical Research on Different Parameters of Digital Subtraction Angiography for Primary Liver Cancer” has been appraised to be at a leading level in China (Hubei Provincial Achievement Registration No. EK070115), and because of the remarkable clinical diagnosis and treatment effect of its core technology, LTLRA, the technology has attracted a lot of famous hospitals (including the Hubei Provincial Hospital) and has attracted many famous hospitals’ attention. Through various academic activities, the technology has attracted the attention of radiologists from many famous hospitals (including Wuhan Tongji and Union Medical College), and a series of papers have been published in many core medical journals (including the Chinese Journal of Radiation Medicine and Protection), which were awarded the Second Prize for Scientific Research Progress in 2008 by the People’s Government of Yichang City. Technical keys and innovations: 1. Through repeated clinical experiments, LTLRA imaging parameters of common hepatic artery were established; 2. In the field of medical imaging, it was found that LTLRA of the common hepatic artery of DSA can well show the complex blood supply changes accompanying the growth of PHC lesions from small to large; 3. It was confirmed that LTLRA can increase the number of lesions detected and the rate of lesion detection in liver tumors, especially in the cases where the blood supply of the liver is not rich and the small lesion is not large. LTLRA can improve the number and rate of detection of liver tumors, especially for the detection of small foci (≤1cm in diameter) with poor blood supply in the liver, and can make accurate localization and quantitative diagnosis of intrahepatic tumors before operation, which can guide the clinical treatment. Compared with similar DSA technology, LTLRA can increase the detection rate of lesions by 18.67%. Figure 1: 1A is RA, 1B is LTLRA, 1A shows lighter staining and fewer lesions, 1B shows adequate vascular perfusion of the tumor and thicker staining of the lesions, showing more lesions than 1A. Figure 2: 2A is RA, 2B is LTLRA, 2A shows lighter staining and fewer lesions, 2B shows adequate vascular perfusion of the tumor and thicker staining of the lesions, showing more lesions than 2A. Figure 3: Liver metastasis of colon cancer, 3A is RA, 3B is LTLRA, 3A shows lighter staining and fewer lesions, 3B shows adequate vascular perfusion of the tumor and thicker staining of the lesions, showing more number of lesions than 3A.
