Regular localised rhythmic pain in the anus after defecation is considered to be a possible acute attack of anal fissure. After an anal fissure attack, the local anal pain is significant during and after defecation and gradually decreases with the end of the act of defecation.
Further local examination of the anus is recommended and if the fissure is visible to the naked eye, further aggressive symptomatic treatment is required. In severe cases of anal fissures, further surgery is recommended.
