Hydrogen sulfide poisoning is usually a systemic disease that causes multi-organ damage after inhaling large amounts of hydrogen sulfide gas in a short period of time. Among the systemic damages, the central nervous system and respiratory system are the main target organs, and the damages are very serious. First aid for hydrogen sulfide poisoning can be divided into the following aspects: i. On-site first aid: immediately remove the patient from the scene along the upwind direction, move to a place with fresh air and call 120. if there is skin contact, you need to remove the contaminated clothing as soon as possible and then rinse it repeatedly with flowing water. If there is vomiting, turn the patient’s head to the side to avoid accidental inhalation. If respiratory arrest occurs, perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation immediately, while needing to ensure the safety of the rescuer himself. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy: It can effectively improve the body’s oxygen deficiency, and at the same time accelerate the discharge of hydrogen sulfide and oxidative detoxification. Any patient who is in coma should be treated with hyperbaric oxygen immediately, 1-2 times a day, 10-20 times a course of treatment, usually 1-2 courses. Third, symptomatic supportive treatment: 1. hibernation therapy: if the patient appears agitated and hyperthermic coma, hibernation therapy can be used; 2. glucocorticoids: if the patient appears toxic pulmonary edema and cerebral edema, glucocorticoids can be applied early, in sufficient amount and for a short period of time. Large doses of glutathione, cysteine, cystine, etc. are used to strengthen the cellular bio-oxidation capacity and accelerate the detoxification of hydrogen sulfide; 3, cytochrome C: cytochrome C is also applied to improve cellular metabolism, and skin tests need to be done before use to prevent allergy; 4, local treatment: if eye injury occurs, it needs to be rinsed with water or 2% sodium bicarbonate as soon as possible, followed by 4% boric acid water, then drops of sterile olive oil and cortisone acetate eye drops to prevent keratitis from occurring. Apply antibiotics as needed to prevent infection. According to current data, the mortality rate of hydrogen sulfide poisoning is about 45%, which is high and the prognosis is poor, and it is very important to actively prevent poisoning.
