Can sinusitis cause swollen lymph nodes?

Sinusitis can lead to swollen lymph nodes because sinusitis is mainly caused by acute bacterial and viral infection, resulting in congestion, edema and exudation of the mucous membrane of the sinuses. When the inflammation breaks through the lymphatic vessels, it leads to swollen lymph nodes in the neck and ears, and the patient is accompanied by fever, nasal congestion, yellow nasal discharge, facial swelling, headache and other related symptoms. Patients need to go to the hospital for detailed examination of rhinoscopy, sinus CT, blood count and ultrasound of the neck to confirm the diagnosis. In terms of treatment, the acute stage requires symptomatic anti-inflammatory treatment with antibiotics, along with sinus puncture and irrigation, which is very effective. If conservative treatment does not work, sinus surgery is needed to cure it completely.
