      Cognition is the process by which the human brain receives external information, processes it, and converts it into internal mental activity to acquire knowledge or apply it. It includes memory, language, visual-spatial, computational and comprehension judgment. Cognitive impairment refers to the injury of one or more of several cognitive functions of appeal. Dementia can be considered when two or more of the cognitive domains of appeal are involved and affect the individual’s daily activities or social abilities.
