Chronic kidney disease is not kidney deficiency

What is your first thought when you talk about chronic kidney disease? In some people’s mind, the word “kidney deficiency” will definitely flash up, and some people will even have the idea that they need to supplement kidney aphrodisiacs. In fact, this is a completely different concept, “kidney deficiency” is a unique term in Chinese medicine, there is no “kidney deficiency” in Western medicine. The kidney in Chinese medicine is not the same concept as the anatomical “kidney” in Western medicine, which is broader and involves urinary, reproductive, endocrine, neurological and other systems. Chronic kidney disease is a general term used by Western medicine for many different kidney diseases that share similar pathological damage, disease course, and prevention and treatment strategies in the disease process. What is chronic kidney disease? Various renal diseases (including glomerulonephritis, cryptogenic nephritis, pyelonephritis, allergic purpura nephritis, lupus erythematosus nephritis, ventilated kidney, IgA nephropathy, nephrotic syndrome, membranous nephropathy, nephrotic syndrome, diabetic nephropathy, hypertensive nephropathy, polycystic kidney, etc., except for a few acute nephritis and urinary tract infection that can be cured by timely control) are prolonged and difficult to cure after onset. As long as the effective glomerular filtration rate is less than 60% or abnormal blood or urine examination, or abnormal imaging or pathological examination confirms that there is kidney damage for more than 3 months, all of them can be classified as chronic kidney disease, and if they are not controlled by timely and effective treatment, the common course of the disease will lead to the progression of the disease and eventually will develop into chronic renal insufficiency, renal failure and uremia. The common course of the disease will lead to the progression of chronic renal insufficiency, renal failure and uremia. Screening is a positive strategy to prevent chronic kidney disease, and regular screening is the most routine means to prevent chronic kidney disease, especially there are many methods to check chronic kidney disease, including urine and blood tests (such as urine routine, urine protein quantification, kidney function tests, etc.) and ultrasound tests (such as ultrasound, CT, MRI, etc.). Even healthy people should have a kidney function and routine urine examination once a year. For people with high blood pressure, hyperuricemia, diabetes, long-term medication and other high-risk groups, timely checkups should be performed according to their conditions. Kidney deficiency is not all about “aphrodisiacs” Chinese medicine believes that “kidney is the essence of nature” and has a very close relationship with human reproduction, which is understood by many people. Therefore, when it comes to “kidney deficiency” will make some people pale, but also more than afraid of “can not”, in fact, this is also people’s misunderstanding of “kidney deficiency”. There are many kinds of kidney deficiency, such as kidney qi deficiency, kidney yin deficiency, kidney yang deficiency, kidney essence deficiency, kidney yin and yang deficiency, etc. According to the different symptoms, the treatment principle also varies greatly. Only kidney yang deficiency is really needed to strengthen the kidney and yang. Kidney yang deficiency is mostly seen in symptoms such as fatigue and weakness, coldness in the limbs, cold pain in the waist and knees, clear and long or unfavorable urine, and diminished sexual function. If you suspect that your kidney is deficient, you need to consult a Chinese medicine practitioner and use the right medicine only after identification.
