How long can you live with depression?

The survival time of depressed patients is context-specific and cannot be generalized. Depression is a disorder in which significant depressed mood is the main clinical manifestation and is classified as mild, moderate and severe depression. In mild and moderate patients, there is no significant suicidal behavior and it usually does not affect the patient’s life expectancy. For patients with major depression, the presence of suicidal self-injurious tendencies and behaviors may affect life expectancy and require active treatment. If the patient’s symptoms can be well controlled, it usually does not affect the patient’s personal life expectancy if it is combined with psychotherapy and personal mindset adjustment. However, if the patient’s treatment is poorly motivated and does not cooperate with treatment, it can lead to accidents and endanger the patient’s life. Therefore, it is recommended that family members communicate, communicate and accompany patients more often to prevent accidents.
