April 11 is World Parkinson’s Disease Day. In addition to the typical movement disorder symptoms of Parkinson’s disease, there are also non-movement disorder symptoms represented by depression. Depression is now considered to be one of the symptoms of Parkinson’s disease, mostly in its early stages. Parkinson’s disease initially presents with symptoms of depression before the onset of movement disorders such as tremor.
