Is a positive thyroid nodule serious?

A positive thyroid nodule indicates cancer in the thyroid gland, in which case the severity of the patient’s condition varies depending on the size of the nodule. If the size of thyroid nodule is less than 1cm, the patient is a micro papillary thyroid carcinoma, which does not require lymph node dissection and only requires total removal of the thyroid gland. The surgery is less traumatic and the patient recovers faster after the surgery without causing serious damage to nerves and blood vessels, which is equivalent to achieving the effect of radical cure after the surgery and the patient’s condition is not serious. Secondly, if the volume of thyroid nodule is larger than 1cm, the patient belongs to papillary thyroid carcinoma, which requires central and lateral cervical lymph node dissection during the operation.
