Chronic pharyngitis caused by yin deficiency and fire exuberance (deficiency of yin and essence in the body, resulting in hyperactive deficiency and fire) can be treated with Chinese medicines such as Xuanmai Ganjie Granules and Zhibai Di Huang Wan.
1. Xuanmai Ganjie Granules: Its main ingredients are Xuanshen, licorice, Platycodonopsis, maitake. Its efficacy is to dispel phlegm and benefit the pharynx, clear heat and nourish yin. It is mainly used for the treatment of dry mouth and nose, sore throat and other symptoms caused by yin deficiency and fire exuberance.
Its adverse reactions and contraindications are not clear. Avoid tobacco, alcohol, spicy, fishy food. It is forbidden for those who are allergic to this product. People with serious chronic diseases, children, pregnant women, lactating women, old and weak, and people with loose stools (thin and unformed feces) should take it under the guidance of a physician.
2. Zhi Bai Di Huang Wan: It consists of Zhi Mu, Huang Bai, Shu Di Huang, Cornus officinalis, Mudan Pi, Chinese yam, Poria, Zedo. Its effect is to nourish yin and lower fire (nourish yin essence and lower fire). It is often used in treating dry mouth and sore throat, hot flashes and night sweating (abnormal sweating after going to sleep and stopping sweating after waking up), short and red urine (small amount of urine with dark yellow color), tinnitus and spermatorrhea caused by yin deficiency and fire exuberance.
Its adverse reactions, contraindications and precautions are not clear. If used concurrently with other drugs, please consult a physician or pharmacist.
