How to be a good clinician?

Previously, I never quite understood the word clinical in front of the doctor. Now think about it, this word is really very apt and vivid to show that doctors must be clinical in order to cure patients, doctors must be clinical in order to obtain the changes of patients’ conditions, doctors must be clinical in order to gain experience and technology. In short, we must be a good clinical doctor, and not a doctor who is out of clinical practice and a showman on paper. The so-called clinical, is often to the patient’s warmth, care and consideration, understanding the condition, grasp the patient’s condition traces, careful observation, careful thinking, so that we can combine our medical knowledge experience, to give the best patient treatment. I personally experienced a case, a female patient in the south after epilepsy smooth, three days after surgery began to come out of the body some rash, not much, to the fifth day, some increase, asked the dermatology department to see, to prescribe some drugs to apply, and reduce the suspension of some intravenous drugs, but the effect is still not obvious, gave some hormone anti-allergy, but also played a minor role, and to the sixth or seventh day feel some expansion of the rash I thought that it was autumn and there might be some pollen in the air or some allergens in the central air conditioning air. After repeatedly looking for the patient to find out if there was any cause, I noticed that the female patient was wearing her own pajamas, which seemed to be a few days old, and the weather was hot, and the pajamas were a little yellow and a little wet. This caused a rash on the front and back of the patient’s chest. So I immediately asked the patient’s father to help the patient change clean clothes and change the bed sheets and covers, and the rash gradually subsided that night and disappeared by the second or third day. At this point, I really felt a sense of accomplishment, through my own clinical observation, thinking, and judgment, I identified the cause of the rash that was relatively hidden, and successfully resolved the rash that was bothering the patient, while gaining this valuable clinical experience. Therefore, the most important thing in clinical practice is to actively go deep into the ward, listen and understand the patient’s condition, pay attention to observation, thinking and practice, and actually solve the patient’s illness and gain important clinical experience and skills.
