Recent studies have shown that frequent laptop use in men has the potential to affect reproductive health and increase the risk of infertility. Whoever invented the laptop must not have considered the dangers to male reproductive health, but the study confirms that placing the computer in the lap to work on it raises the temperature in the pubic region of men, which affects the quality of semen. The researchers noted that there is nothing better than placing the laptop on a table. The researchers measured the scrotal temperature of 29 young men while working with their laptops balanced on their legs, and found that the temperature of the scrotum rose rapidly even when a washer was placed underneath the laptop. Within about 10-15 minutes of using the laptop, the temperature of the scrotum was out of the safe range, but the men couldn’t even feel it. Dr. Yefim Sheynkin, a urologist at the State University of New York, said that millions of men are using laptops today, especially young men of childbearing age. While no research has yet confirmed how laptops affect male fertility, early studies have shown that raising the temperature of the scrotum by as little as 1C is enough to cause damage to sperm.
