CT manifestations of osteosarcoma

  1. Irregular osteolytic destruction at the tumor site. The bone cortex is thinned or interrupted, mutilated, with swelling or non-swelling destruction. 2
There are internal and external tumor masses with variable density or mixed density, which replace the fatty density of bone marrow tissue and clearly show the extent of tumor infiltration in the marrow. Within the tumor can also be seen tumor masses of different morphology or ring-shaped calcification of tumor cartilage, often with foci of liquefied necrosis forming cystic cavities, so the measurement of CT values vary greatly. 3.Incomplete encrustation can be seen in the internal and external masses from the skin to the outward vertical extension of the needle-like tumor bone. 4.Tumors growing on the bony end tend to invade the joint, and tumor bone can be seen at the level of articular cartilage, and protrude from the articular cartilage surface to form intra-articular masses. 5.Osteogenic osteosarcoma mainly occurring in vertebral body can clearly show the involved vertebral arch and other accessories; show the expansion and compression of vertebral body bone cortex; destroy the mass of vertebral canal and the mass that protrudes to the outer growth of vertebral body, and show the relationship between the mass and the blood vessels and muscles near the vertebral body. 6, showing the intramedullary lesions clearly, but the destruction of the epiphyseal plate cartilage, because the scan level is parallel to the epiphyseal plate, the display is not good.
