What are the clinical manifestations of primary liver cancer?

Primary hepatocellular carcinoma is one of the common malignant tumors in China, and the age of onset is mostly 40-50 years old, mostly seen in men. The etiology and pathogenesis are still unclear, mostly thought to be related to liver cirrhosis, viral hepatitis, certain chemical carcinogens such as aflatoxin and soil and water factors. Primary hepatocellular carcinoma starts insidiously and lacks typical symptoms in early stage, common clinical manifestations are: 1. pain in liver area: mostly persistent dull pain, distension or stabbing pain; 2. systemic and gastrointestinal symptoms: mainly weakness, loss of appetite, emaciation, abdominal distension, etc., some patients may have nausea, vomiting, fever, diarrhea, etc., which lack specificity and often do not attract attention; 3. hepatomegaly: the most common sign of middle and advanced hepatocellular carcinoma. In many cases, hepatomegaly or liver mass is the first symptom of hepatocellular carcinoma, which is detected by patients by chance. A few patients may also have special manifestations such as hypoglycemia, erythrocytosis, hypercalcemia and hypercholesterolemia, etc. If metastasis occurs in lung, bone or brain, corresponding symptoms can be produced.
