How to treat multiple thyroid nodules

Don’t be too anxious. You still need to improve the examination first, and then choose the appropriate treatment plan according to the actual condition of the lesion, whether it is follow-up, oral medication, or surgery. The thyroid tissue is sensitive to iodine intake. Too much or too little intake can stimulate the thyroid tissue, leading to abnormal hyperplasia of the thyroid tissue, and nodules will appear. Therefore, it is important to pay attention to the regularity of diet and work and rest on a daily basis to minimize external stimulation and reduce the development of nodules. For benign nodules, the clinical practice is to review the nodules once every six months to a year to check the size and shape of the nodules through thyroid ultrasound. For nodules that are considered malignant or clearly malignant, they need to be treated seriously. In addition to routine examinations, local CT, abdominal ultrasound, chest X-ray and other items are needed to clarify whether there is metastasis, and local tissue biopsy is needed to clarify the condition through pathological diagnosis before considering the selection of a suitable surgical option. In conclusion, the first step after the discovery of nodules must be to improve the examination to clarify the diagnosis, and then follow up the treatment according to the condition.
