Can cervical cancer be cured?

Cervical cancer is a common malignant tumor in women and has a high mortality rate. Whether cervical cancer can be cured depends on when it is detected. If cervical cancer is detected at an early stage and has not spread systemically, it can be completely cured by surgical removal of the tumor. However, if cervical cancer is detected late and has already spread systemically, then it can only be treated conservatively and cannot be cured completely. The cure rate of cervical cancer mainly depends on whether appropriate treatment is taken in time. For early stage cervical cancer with small tumor and no metastasis, the most effective treatment means is surgical excision. After surgery, radiotherapy, chemotherapy and biological therapy are adopted to prevent recurrence, which can achieve complete cure. Most of the advanced cervical cancer has metastasized and cannot be surgically removed. In this case, biological and pharmacological treatments can be used to prolong patients’ survival and improve their quality of life, but fundamentally, it cannot be cured. After being diagnosed with cervical cancer, it is necessary to have a good state of mind, because it is also a key factor to determine whether it can be cured, cooperate with doctors to actively treat the disease and strictly follow medical advice.
