A new tool for acne treatment

  Light therapy is a very important part of acne treatment, including red and blue light, fractional laser, photodynamic therapy, etc. Combining my years of experience in acne treatment, I summarize the principles and advantages of various light therapy methods in acne treatment for the patients to learn and refer to.
  1, red and blue light treatment – mainly for inflammatory papules.
  Red and blue light acne treatment is based on the role of blue light on the skin surface, killing Propionibacterium acnes and playing an antibacterial and anti-inflammatory role, and it can also effectively inhibit the secretion of sebaceous glands oil, to prevent the recurrence of acne; while the red light can pass through the skin surface tissue, acting on scar tissue, prompting cell secretion to produce collagen and play a role in removing acne marks and repairing acne scars.
  Advantages.
  (1) Red and blue light acne removal time is short, fast results, a single treatment time only takes about 30 minutes, a course of treatment can see the obvious acne removal effect. It is easy and fast, and no need to take a vacation during the treatment.
  (2) The treatment process is safe and has no side effects, no drug resistance and no dependence.
  (3) There is no stimulation to the skin and the treatment process is painless.
  (4) Red and blue treatment process thermal effect is small, can avoid the thermal effect on the skin damage.
  2.Fractional laser – mainly for post-acne scarring and hyperpigmentation.
  Fractional laser technology is an emerging laser treatment technology in the last two years, and the latest skin cosmetic technology that has received the most attention in the global skin community, which is a minimally invasive treatment between invasive and non-invasive.
  Indications.
  (1) Acne and post-acne scars, hyperpigmentation;
  (2) Removal of fine lines and dry lines around the eyes, such as eyelids and crow’s feet;
  (3) Effective improvement of facial and forehead wrinkles, joint folds and stretch marks;

  3.Photodynamic therapy – mainly for severe acne (pustules, cysts, red spots).
  Photodynamic therapy (PDT) is a new technology based on the interaction of light, photosensitizers and oxygen, using photodynamic reflections to carry out disease diagnosis and treatment.PDT treatment of acne mainly works through multiple simultaneous pathways, targeting the four major causes of acne development.
  (1) Direct killing of Propionibacterium acnes;
  (2) Targeted action on sebaceous glands to inhibit sebum activity and reduce oil secretion;
  (3) Anti-inflammatory and restorative effects;
  (4) Reduce hair follicle obstruction;
  Indications.
  (1) Moderate to severe acne, acne that is not controlled by traditional methods;
  (2) Acne that cannot tolerate the stimulation of topical medications;
  (3) Acne that is not suitable for antibiotics or other oral medications to avoid side effects;
  Precautions: Some reactions may occur during photodynamic therapy, such as stinging during treatment, erythema and swelling after treatment, transient acne aggravation, and hyperpigmentation, all of which may resolve on their own.
