Pulmonary Isolation is not a major disease. Major diseases are those that incur huge costs for treatment and that seriously affect the normal life of the patient and his/her family over a period of time. Common major diseases include malignant tumors (some tumors that are unable to control the spread of tumor cells), acute myocardial infarction, post-stroke (permanent neurological deficits), major organ transplantation, end-stage renal disease, multiple limb loss (two or more), paralysis, and other diseases. Pulmonary Isolation is usually congenital, due to abnormal development of bronchopulmonary tissues, and is prone to recurrent infections. The common treatment is surgery, and most patients recover well after surgery. It is important to seek prompt medical attention for pulmonary isolation, and to consult your doctor for treatment and related questions.
