Abstinence from sex for at least one month is required after varicocele surgery. The primary causes include increased pressure in the veins, weak connective tissue around the internal spermatic veins and absent venous valves, and compression of the renal veins by the superior mesenteric artery and aorta, leading to reflux or even regurgitation of the internal spermatic veins. Secondary causes are usually renal tumors, intra-abdominal or retroperitoneal tumors, etc. After varicocele surgery patients need to pay attention to the diet with, should be light, prohibit spicy and stimulating, cool food, avoid smoking and alcohol, keep a happy mood, change underwear regularly, underwear should be loose.
