Acne is a chronic inflammatory skin disease of the sebaceous glands of hair follicles. It is mainly caused by sebaceous glands secreting excessive sebum under the influence of sex hormones, blocking the mouth of hair follicles and causing local secondary bacterial infection and inflammation. Genetics, androgen-induced sebum secretion, follicular sebaceous gland duct keratinization, Propionibacterium acnes multiplication, and immune inflammatory response may all be related to it. The pathogenesis of some patients is also influenced by genetic, immune, endocrine, emotional and dietary factors.
