How long does it usually take for severe acne to heal?

  Severe acne can last a lifetime if not treated properly.  Acne is an inflammatory disease of the sebaceous glands of the skin follicles, which is closely related to the hormone levels in the body, as well as lifestyle and dietary habits. Severe acne mainly refers to tertiary severe acne, mainly cystic acne, where the local skin surface will be dominated by white pustules, red inflammatory papules, nodules, and cyst formation. Without standardized treatment, the cause of acne is not removed and severe acne may stay with a person for the rest of his or her life. Moreover, it may cause disfigurement, and severe acne may take several months to heal if standard treatment is carried out.  After the appearance of severe acne, it is recommended to eat less spicy, sweet and greasy food in the diet, and to have regular work and rest in life to reduce the secretion of sebaceous glands.
