Can gastric polyps be cured?

If it is simple non-neoplastic, gastric hyperplastic polyps, after removing the causative factors and endoscopic resection can be cured, only a few recurrence. If the polyp is tumorigenic, regular review is needed after resection.
Gastric polyps are elevated lesions originating from the epithelial cells of the gastric mucosa and protruding into the gastric cavity. Commonly understood, it is the surface of the stomach grows a “meat” lump, more than the normal mucosa to the lumen of the stomach to protrude a little bit, usually found during gastroscopy, barium meal.
When gastric polyps are found under gastroscopy, gastroscopic biopsy can be performed to confirm whether the polyp is a tumor polyp or a non-tumor polyp gastric polyp:
1. Non-neoplastic polyps: including inflammatory polyps, misshapen polyps, hyperplastic polyps. If it is a non-tumor polyp, for the cause of treatment or regular review of gastroscopy, close observation.
2. Tumor polyps: for example, adenomatous polyps, which have a certain risk of cancer. In principle, they need to be removed to prevent future problems, and should be reviewed regularly after removal.
If the patient has gastric polyps, it is recommended to go to the hospital, complete the gastroscopy and pathology examination, under the guidance of a professional physician to carry out treatment, and follow the doctor’s instructions.
