How to prepare a pathology section

Clinicians need accurate pathology reports before they can develop individualized treatment plans for patients. Due to the complexity of human diseases, it is difficult to solve the problem of varying levels of pathological diagnosis in a short period of time. For patients who have undergone colposcopy, biopsy and lep surgery in other hospitals and need to come to our hospital for further treatment, we need to consult with them. The quality of pathology consultation slides has a direct impact on the timeliness and accuracy of pathologists’ diagnosis. Colposcopic image interpretation is also related to the colposcopist’s knowledge of the images, resulting in a wide variation in the accuracy of colposcopic diagnosis and biopsy from hospital to hospital. Therefore, many patients who have already undergone colposcopic biopsies at outside institutions and come to our hospital for examination will require a consultation with a section on the one hand and, on the other hand, may need to be re-evaluated colposcopically by our department and, if necessary, biopsied again. Materials needed for the consultation: pathology slides from the original unit (to be borrowed from the pathology department of the biopsy hospital) and the corresponding pathology report.
