Does your child have any clinical manifestations?
Time and results of RPR tests?
Laboratory diagnostic criteria: If the titer of RPR is greater than or equal to 4 times the mother’s titer, it is highly suggestive of congenital syphilis. An antibody titer equal to or greater than 2 dilutions (4 times) of the mother’s titer is diagnostic. Also TP positive.
Post-treatment follow-up: Infants born to adequately treated pregnant women with syphilis who are seropositive at birth should have their seropositivity checked monthly for 8 months. If the seropositivity is negative and no clinical manifestations of congenital syphilis are present, observation can be stopped.
Children with congenital syphilis should generally have clinical signs. It is equivalent to stage II syphilis.
