Tests for erythema and edema at the urethra

Recurrent candidal glans manifests as erythema in the glans area, which may have small pustules or papules on the surface. It can also manifest as localized edema of the glans mucosa, with mild flaking at the edges, and can have papules and small pustules expanding around to form glans erosion. The Urethra has erythema and edema examination items: 1, examination laboratory: Candida glansitis (circumcision) can be found in the lesion of the glans, foreskin on the microscopic examination or culture of Candida. The glans is a very important part of the process. 2, direct microscopic examination: scrape the glans penis, coronal groove or foreskin lesion surface scales as the specimen to be examined. The specimen to be examined will be filmed with 10% potassium hydroxide or saline, microscopically visible clusters of oval-shaped spores and pseudomycelium, such as finding more pseudomycelium, indicating that Candida is in the pathogenic stage. 3, staining examination: also available gram staining method, Congo red staining or PAS staining method after staining microscopic examination, its positive rate are higher than the direct microscopic examination method. Gram staining, spores and pseudomycorrhizae stained blue: Congo red and PAS staining, spores and pseudomycorrhizae are stained red. 4, isolation culture: patients with negative smear examination, candida culture can be performed. Under aseptic conditions, the specimen under examination will be inoculated on Sha’s medium, inoculation will be oblique and cut a little of the test tube medium, each tube inoculated 2-3 places, each specimen inoculated 2 tubes. Put the medium into 37 ℃ incubator 24-48 hours after observation, can see a large number of milky white colony growth, pick a small number of colonies with inoculation needle smear, direct microscopic examination or staining after microscopic examination, can see a large number of spores, can be initially diagnosed as Candida infection.
