The treatment of hemangioma should take different measures according to its different growth stages: (1) Small red skin lesions in the form of spots and flakes found after birth should be treated with drugs, laser and surgery as early as possible to block them from entering the rapid growth stage. (2) Proliferating hemangioma should be treated with a progressive treatment plan, i.e. drug therapy → injection therapy. For deep or large area hemangioma, the effect of single method is often poor, and comprehensive treatment, such as drug + laser, should be adopted, but local drug application and radionuclide dressing should not be used at the same time to prevent local ulceration. (3) The treatment strategy for hemangioma in the receding stage is to follow up and observe, and if necessary, surgical repair of residual lesions, scar, hypertrophic deformity or pigmentation. (4) Surgical revision and/or laser treatment may be performed for residual lesions of hemangiomas in the regression completion phase. Treatment options for hemangiomas must be carefully considered and in consultation with the child’s parents. The evaluation determines which hemangiomas are likely to regress completely with satisfactory results and which will leave behind cosmetic defects.
