Liver yin deficiency and internal heat can be seen as irritability, redness of the face, dryness and fatigue of the eyes, dryness and bitterness of the mouth, and dryness of the bowels. Nourishing Yin and nourishing Blood (nourishing the blood in the body) and softening the Liver can be done with Qui Shao Di Huang Tang. Kidney yin deficiency and fire exuberance (deficiency of yin and essence in the body, resulting in hyperactive fire) can be seen as heat in the hands and feet, irritability, poor sleep, excessive dreaming, night sweating (abnormal sweating after going to sleep, but sweating stops after waking up), dry mouth and pharynx, and lumbar and knee fatigue. Zhi Bai Di Huang Wan (知柏地黄丸) can be used to nourish yin and lower fire (nourish yin essence and lower fire). Stomach yin deficiency and internal heat can be seen in patients with appetite but lethargy, nausea and regurgitation, dry mouth and throat, dry stools, bad breath, etc., can be used to nourish the stomach yin with Sasanqua and Maidong Soup.
