Can cervical cancer be detected by ultrasound?

Cervical cancer cannot be detected by ultrasound. The resolution of color ultrasound is very limited, especially for early stage cervical cancer patients, there is no way to diagnose through color ultrasound. If cervical cancer develops further and there is a relatively large mass, in this case the possibility of cervical mass is reported through gynecologic ultrasound. However, for the diagnosis of cervical cancer, further gynecological examination is needed. If cauliflower-like swelling appears on gynecological examination, further combination with cervical biopsy is needed to clarify the diagnosis. If the cervical biopsy confirms cervical cancer, the diagnosis of cervical cancer is established. The diagnosis can also be further clarified through pelvic MRI, which has a very high resolution and can detect small lesions and determine the extent of invasion at an earlier stage.
