Can you eat hawthorn with nephrotic syndrome?

Patients with nephrotic syndrome are able to eat hawthorn. Unless oliguria or anuria occurs in nephrotic syndrome, it is usually possible to eat hawthorn. Nephrotic syndrome mainly restricts salt, water and high protein food during the acute phase of the disease. If you drink too much water and eat too salty, it will lead to further aggravation of edema. If you eat too much protein-rich food, such as meat, milk, eggs and soy products, it will lead to further increase of protein loss from the kidneys, which will cause increased kidney damage, so these two types of food need to be restricted. Hawthorn contains mainly fiber and electrolytes, if patients with nephrotic syndrome do not have oliguria or anuria, they can be hawthorn. If oliguria and anuria occur, eating too much hawthorn may lead to elevated blood potassium, which can cause malignant arrhythmia and lead to sudden death of the patient and should be limited in moderation. It is best not to take hawthorn on an empty stomach.
