What does it mean when a thyroid nodule has an irregular pattern?

An irregular thyroid nodule is usually an imaging description. Irregular nodules are mainly irregular in shape and are commonly seen in malignant thyroid tumors. Benign thyroid nodules are more regular and tough in shape, while malignant nodules are the opposite. Malignant nodules are fast-growing and initially do not cause any symptoms. As the nodule progresses, there will be certain symptoms of compression, including affecting swallowing and breathing, and compression of the nerves will cause hoarseness and choking. However, imaging alone is not sufficient to confirm the diagnosis of benign or malignant nodules, and further cytological aspiration is needed, or further analysis based on the classification of imaging, and the patient’s medical and family history.
