Snakebite is a painful, acute herpetic skin disease. In Chinese medical literature, it is also known as “fire-dan of entangled waist”, “snake-dan” and “fire belt sore”. According to the “Eleventh Five-Year Plan of the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Key Specialties Collaborative Group for the Treatment of Herpes Zoster”, herpes zoster is divided into three common symptoms, including liver-heat, spleen-dampness, and qi-stagnation and blood-stagnation. Most of these symptoms are caused by internal injury to the liver, which leads to depression of liver qi and fire over time; or injury to the spleen due to physical strain, which leads to dampness and heat; or external infection with poisonous evil, which leads to the combination of internal and external evil and external skin. The pain is caused by the combination of internal and external evil. The symptoms are bright red skin, clusters of blisters, tense blister walls, burning pain; may be accompanied by body heat, bitter mouth, dry throat, irritability, dry stool, yellow urine; red tongue, thin yellow or yellow greasy coating, smooth pulse. In the past 3 years, our department has used cotton moxibustion with peri-prick method to treat 36 cases of liver meridian depression and heat type snake string sores with satisfactory results, which are reported as follows: 1. Clinical data All 36 cases in this group were patients attending our outpatient clinic from January 2011 to March 2014, including 19 males and 17 females, aged 14 to 66 years old, with an average age of 41.7 years. The duration of the disease ranged from 1 to 6 days, with an average of 2.3 days. Distribution of lesions: 21 cases of intercostal nerve, accounting for 58.3%; 6 cases of cervical nerve, accounting for 16.7%; 9 cases of lumbosacral nerve, accounting for 25%. Nerve pain: 23 cases with neuralgia followed by skin lesions, 6 cases with skin lesions followed by neuralgia, and 7 cases with skin lesions and neuralgia occurring simultaneously. 2, treatment method using cotton moxibustion with peri-prick treatment, first of all, according to the size of the herpes area, take 3-10 needle points around it, the needle tip to the center of the disease area, 30-40min after the needle, and then use cotton moxibustion, once a day, the specific operation is as follows: 2.1 peri-prick method Patients take the healthy side lying position and fully expose the affected area, with 75% alcohol along the local disinfection around the herpes, with 26 No. 2 inch milli-needle Around the herpes in the normal skin around the line of multiple needles around the needle, the number of needles will be herpes lesions surrounded by the appropriate number of needles, needles and needles to maintain a certain distance between, generally with 3 to 10 needles can be. After the siege, each needle can be fast and small amplitude and small angle twisting and turning of the diarrhea method, a total of 1 to 2 minutes, every 10 minutes, 30 to 40 minutes after the needle. 2.2 cotton moxibustion will be fully soaked with 95% alcohol skim cotton sheet torn thin, thin cotton sheet do not leave holes or gaps, so as not to affect the efficacy of burning moxibustion. Ask the patient to lie down, eyes closed and relaxed, after fully exposing the affected area, according to the size of the skin lesion will be applied to its face piece, according to the ignition machine ignite one end of the cotton piece, to be fully burned cotton piece and then remove. 3, efficacy observation 3.1 efficacy criteria cure: lesions recede, pain disappears, clinical signs disappear; improve: lesions obviously recede, pain significantly reduced; effective: self-conscious symptoms reduced, rash recede more than 30%; invalid: blister recede below 30%, pain does not disappear, symptoms and signs basically no improvement. 3.2 Treatment results In this group of 36 cases, 24 cases were cured, 10 cases were improved, 2 cases were effective, and 0 cases were invalid, with a total efficiency of 100%. The maximum cure time was 9 days, the shortest was 4 days, and the average was 5 days. 4, discussion The herpes zoster, as it is called in modern medicine, is a herpetic skin disease caused by varicella-zoster virus, which has a more comprehensive understanding of its pathogenesis and treatment in ancestral medicine. The heat can cause erythema and pimples, and dampness and heat can cause blisters. Therefore, we use the milli-needle peri-needle method to stimulate the meridian, dredge the meridians, move the qi and blood, and drive the evil out, and with the cotton moxibustion to dredge the wind and disperse the surface, and move the qi and phlegm, and act directly on the lesion, which can make the qi and blood run, relax the meridians, reach the evil out, remove dampness, relieve pain, penetrate heat and detoxify, and the two complement each other, thus achieving the purpose of making the herpes subside quickly, relieving pain and shortening the course of the disease. Modern medical research believes that acupuncture helps to adjust and enhance the body’s immune function, effectively suppress inflammation and improve the pain threshold, while local acupuncture treatment helps to play its role in regulating microcirculation and promoting metabolism, thus achieving the effect of pain relief and anti-inflammation. The milli-needle peri-prick method can effectively limit the extent of the lesions and prevent the spread of evil toxins, and the warm stimulation of cotton moxibustion can strengthen this effect, and help to remove dampness and relieve pain, so that the lesion surface dries quickly and the herpes subsides. Through clinical observation, cotton moxibustion with peri-prick method for the treatment of liver meridian heat type snakebite has the characteristics of fast onset, good effect, no side effects, simple and easy clinical operation, low medical cost, and easy acceptance by patients, which is worthy of clinical application.
