Prevention and treatment of varicose spermatocele

Patients who undergo varicocele surgery are required to stay in the hospital for 48 hours for observation, which means the first day of surgery, the second day for post-operative observation, and the third day for discharge. Since most of the veins are ligated, especially more completely with microscopic surgery, this results in less venous blood return, which can cause blood stasis, and patients will experience scrotal cramping at 2-4 weeks, which may be more pronounced than before surgery. This condition will not be relieved until the lateral circulation of blood in the lower extremities is completely established, which usually takes 3-6 months; some patients will also experience pain to touch, i.e. pain upon touching, but cannot say exactly which location is painful, which may be a postoperative inflammatory reaction or pain caused by regeneration after partial nerve severance during surgery, and these pains can be relieved after a period of time. One month after surgery, the patient can resume normal sexual life, 1-2 times a week, if too early or too often, it is not conducive to post-operative recovery, there was a patient who had sex two weeks after surgery, resulting in testicular torsion and severe pain. Prolonged sitting is one of the major causes of varicocele, so post-operative patients should also try to avoid sitting. One month after surgery, patients should take more walks every day to promote blood circulation, which is good for disease recovery; however, if there is too much exercise, the testicles will descend to the lower side of the scrotum again in order to dissipate heat, which may lead to distension and pain, so some more strenuous sports, such as soccer and basketball, or three months after surgery is better to participate. Post-operative patients can wear tighter pants due to the presence of scrotal swelling for a certain period of time; if they wear looser boxers, they can pad a towel inside their underwear, all of which are meant to hold the scrotum up and avoid pain.
