After surgery for a perianal abscess, the hanging therapy of the local skin band can make the dilation muscle pulling painful.
Local pain can be relieved by applying oxybutynin hydrochloride gel to the wound for pain management.
In severe cases, oral pain medication may be used.
The local pain will gradually decrease as the ligature wire is removed.
Patients are advised to change the medication daily and regularly to speed up the removal of the ligature threads and skin bands.
