Difference between thyroid cysts and nodules

Thyroid cysts can be considered as a type of thyroid nodule, and the main cause is still the abnormal proliferation of thyroid tissue. The nodules are formed when the thyroid tissue is continuously stimulated and there is an abnormal proliferation of tissue. Depending on the nature and internal structure of the nodules, they can be broadly distinguished during ultrasound examination of the thyroid gland as: cystic nodules, cystic nodules, and solid nodules. Cystic nodules are still benign lesions. If the nodules are not particularly large, do not press on the surrounding tissues, and do not cause clinical symptoms, it is better to follow up with regular thyroid ultrasound and thyroid function tests to clarify thyroid function. Cystic nodules and solid nodules are more important and may have the possibility of malignancy. In addition to regular follow-up, biopsy may be required for suspicious nodules for pathological examination to clarify the final diagnosis. Pay attention to daily living habits, try to reduce the stimulation of the thyroid gland, pay attention to regular work and rest, regular diet, pay attention to the intake of iodine, avoid stimulation of tobacco and alcohol, etc., control blood sugar and own weight, reduce the stimulating factors of thyroid nodules, try to maintain the basic condition of the nodules. Thyroid cysts, which are a type of nodule, should not be ignored and must be reviewed regularly. For nodules that develop rapidly, treatment should be carried out early to avoid delays.
