Do all children with precocious puberty need treatment?

Central precocious puberty and peripheral precocious puberty need to be treated after a clear diagnosis, while partial precocious puberty can be treated without special treatment. Partial precocious puberty includes simple early breast development, early pubic hair development and early menstruation without other secondary sexual characteristics. (1) The most common one is early breast development, which can occur at any age before 8 years old in girls, but mostly in early childhood. (2) Early pubic hair development is caused by isolated early secretion of androgens from the adrenal glands. (3) Early onset of menstruation may be due to increased sensitivity of the uterine mucosa to small amounts of estrogen, which may disappear spontaneously.
