How to curb precocious puberty in girls

Precocious puberty in girls is treated in different ways depending on the cause. There are mainly etiologic treatments and drug treatments.
1. Idiopathic central precocious puberty (true precocious puberty): It is mainly caused by gonadotropin-releasing hormone, so gonadotropin-releasing hormone analogs are used to treat it, such as treprostinil and leuprolide. Through the down-regulation of receptors, the pituitary-gonadal axis is inhibited, thus temporarily inhibiting sexual development and delaying skeletal maturation, and ultimately height can be improved.
2. Central precocious puberty (true precocious puberty) or peripheral precocious puberty (pseudo precocious puberty) caused by tumors: timely surgical resection or radiotherapy should be carried out.
3. Peripheral precocious puberty (pseudo-precocious puberty) caused by other diseases: thyroid preparation can be given to correct the function of precocious puberty caused by hypothyroidism; adrenal cortical hyperplasia causing precocious puberty in girls can be treated with adrenocorticotropic hormone.
After the symptoms of precocious puberty appear in girls, it is recommended to go to the hospital in time for medical consultation and early and regular treatment to avoid adverse consequences. All of the above medications should be used under the guidance of a doctor, avoid self-medication.
